Step
1

Contact The Team

Start the process with this form online for a free quote. One of our solar representatives will be in touch with you shortly to talk about the solar opportunities available to you. We’ll discuss your home and property’s viability for solar, looking for qualities like shade cover and roof direction, to be sure solar is a good fit for your home. If all seems well from this call, we’ll schedule a free in-home consultation.

Step
2

In-Home Consultation

An experienced consultant will travel out to your property to better evaluate your home in person. In addition, we’ll take your electric bills and goals into account to determine the best size solar system for your home. Based on these factors, we’ll be able to deliver a custom proposal designed to address your home’s specific energy needs. After you sign the contract, our team will begin preparing for installation.

Step
3

Solar Installation

Our team will arrive on installation day to install your solar panels. We’ll be careful but work quickly. Installation should only take a day or two, and, once complete, we’ll test your system to make sure it’s working as intended. Once that’s done, we’ll clean up our workspace and head out. All that’s left after that is a passed inspection and your utility provider swapping out your meter, leaving you to enjoy your potential savings!4

Solar Panel Installation FAQs

How much does it cost to install solar panels in Chicago?

Pink Energy’s solar panel systems are not one size fits all. We create custom solar systems for each customer’s unique energy needs. As such, it’s hard to give an estimate of what your solar panel installation could cost. However, generally the price will depend on your home’s current energy needs, what direction your home faces and how much sunlight your roof receives in addition to other such factors.

Can I install solar panels myself?

It’s possible to do, but we do not recommend it. Pink Energy’s qualified installation teams have the experience needed to ensure your panels are installed properly and in the best position to gather sunlight.

How long does it take to install solar panels?

Our installation team only takes a day or two to have your solar panels up and running. It’s a quick process!

Do I need permission to install solar panels in Chicago?

Yes, some permits are required to install solar panels. It’s likely your local government has some requirements in place before installation occurs. Pink Energy’s experts will help you with the majority of the permits as part of the installation process.

Does installing solar panels void your roof warranty?

In nearly all cases, your roof warranty should remain intact. As long as the installation team did their job right (and our teams are experts), you shouldn’t have any problems with your roof’s warranty. We recommend that you should always double-check with your roof’s manufacturer or installer to confirm.

What permits do I need to install solar panels in Chicago?

Permits needed to install solar panels vary by your own local government’s mandates. Your local government and local utility companies likely have specific requirements in place to satisfy local building and electrical codes. As a general rule, you can expect to have to file for a building permit, an electrical permit and possibly a solar photovoltaic (PV) permit.

Can my HOA stop me from installing solar panels in Chicago?

This varies by neighborhood. However, you can expect to face some pushback from your HOA if your solar panels will face public spaces, such as an HOA-maintained park or road. Pink Energy will work with you to ensure that your solar panels are up to code and satisfy HOA requirements if at all possible!

Can solar panels be installed on a metal roof?

Absolutely! Metal roofs offer a stable surface for solar panel installation, so there should be no problem in having both.
